Loadout and Trainerize.
Trainerize is a broad personal training platform with nutrition, habits, video calls, payments and a custom branded app. Loadout is narrower: it is built around the session as structured data, so the watch, the log and the coach all read the same numbers. Here are the two side by side.
The Trainerize column is taken from Trainerize's public website as of October 2026, prices in US dollars as listed there. Products and prices change; check the current version before deciding.
Writing a session
- Loadout
- Type the session the way you write it. Each line is read into sets, reps, load, RPE, pace, distance and rest as you type; your words are kept and any field can be overridden.
- Trainerize
- A workout builder, with an AI Workout Builder from the Grow plan that creates a structured workout you can edit and schedule.
AI
- Loadout
- Drafts a whole block from a brief, suggests the next progression per exercise and writes a morning briefing. Nothing is applied or sent without you.
- Trainerize
- AI Workout Builder for creating workouts.
Watches and wearables
- Loadout
- Cardio pushed to Garmin and intervals.icu as structured workouts (intervals.icu forwards to Wahoo and Zwift) and scheduled on Apple Watch from the iPhone app. The activity completes the session when it lands.
- Trainerize
- An Apple Watch app for tracking workouts and habits. Garmin, Fitbit and Withings data sync in (activity, sleep, heart rate, body stats), from the Grow plan.
Nutrition and habits
- Loadout
- Macro targets per athlete, a meal log with barcode and food search, and habits measured as adherence, with no streaks or badges.
- Trainerize
- Meal tracking by photo, barcode or food library, MyFitnessPal sync, and habit coaching with streaks and badges.
Branding
- Loadout
- Your logo and accent colour in the athlete app on iPhone, Android and the web.
- Trainerize
- A custom branded app for iOS and Android: a one-time US$169 setup fee on Pro, included on Studio Plus.
Payments and video calls
- Loadout
- Not built in for your own clients: keep the payment tool you use today. No video calls. Voice notes in messages, and recorded voice or video replies on an athlete's form-check videos.
- Trainerize
- Stripe payments (one-time or recurring) and 1-1 or group video calls, as paid add-ons on Grow and Pro and included on Studio Plus.
Free plan
- Loadout
- Free for 2 active clients with every feature, no time limit and no card.
- Trainerize
- Basic is free for 1 client. A 30-day trial with unlimited clients, no card.
Price, as of October 2026
- Loadout
- $49£39 a month including 5 active clients, then $5£4 per extra active client. Annual billing gives 2 months free.
- Trainerize
- Grow US$9 a month for 2 clients; Pro from US$23 a month for 5 clients, with higher tiers up to 200; Studio Plus from US$248 a month per location. Figures from the plan cards; the page's FAQ quotes slightly higher ones.

When Trainerize is the better fit
- You run a personal training business where nutrition, habits, video calls and taking payments in one app matter more than the detail of the programme.
- You want a fully custom branded app in the app stores under your own name.
- You coach gym members alongside online clients and want group video and challenges.
When Loadout is
- Your programmes are numbers: percentages, RPE, intervals, paces. You want them stored as structure, not retyped into form fields.
- Your athletes train with Garmin or intervals.icu and you want the session on the watch and back in the log without anyone copying it.
- You want an AI that drafts a whole block and proposes progressions from what was actually logged, and leaves every decision with you.
See structured prescriptions, sessions on the watch and AI programme drafting.
Moving over from Trainerize
Loadout is free for 2 active clients with every feature and no time limit, so you can try it on real athletes before you move anyone else. The importer is under Import in the coach dashboard.
- 01Start on the free plan with two athletes and run both tools side by side for a block.
- 02Export your client list from your current app as a CSV. The importer maps columns such as name, email, phone and notes, previews every row and sends the invites only when you confirm.
- 03Export or copy a programme into a CSV with one row per exercise (date or week and day, session name, exercise, prescription). Exercises are matched to the catalogue, anything unmatched is shown for you to fix, and each prescription is parsed into structure.
- 04Athletes who connect intervals.icu, Strava or Garmin can pull in their activity history, a year by default.
The full walkthrough is in how to move a roster to new coaching software without losing history.
Questions.
Is Loadout a good Trainerize alternative?
It depends on what you use Trainerize for. If your coaching is mainly strength or endurance programming and you want sessions on the watch and logs as data, Loadout is built for that. If you rely on built-in payments, video calls or a custom branded app in the app stores, Trainerize covers those and Loadout does not.
Can I move my clients from Trainerize to Loadout?
Yes. Export your client list as a CSV and import it in Loadout: columns are mapped for you, every row is previewed and the invites go out only when you confirm. Programmes come across as a CSV with one row per exercise, and each prescription is parsed into structure as it lands.
Is Loadout cheaper than Trainerize?
It depends on your roster and the add-ons you use. Loadout is free for 2 active clients, then $49£39 a month including 5 and $5£4 per extra active client, with every feature included. Check Trainerize's pricing page for its current figures.
Is Loadout affiliated with Trainerize?
No. Trainerize is a trademark of its owner. Loadout is independent; this page reflects Trainerize's public website as of October 2026.
