Loadout and TrainHeroic.
TrainHeroic is a strength training platform with team programming, leaderboards and a marketplace for selling programmes. Loadout is built around the session as structured data with the AI and watch layer on top. Here they are side by side.
The TrainHeroic column is taken from TrainHeroic's public website as of October 2026, prices in US dollars as listed there. Products and prices change; check the current version before deciding.
Writing a session
- Loadout
- Type the session the way you write it. Each line is read into sets, reps, load, RPE, pace, distance and rest as you type; your words are kept and any field can be overridden.
- TrainHeroic
- Create and organise workouts, circuits and full programmes, or start from TrainHeroic's own.
Teams and groups
- Loadout
- Bulk apply a session template to many athletes, group and team message threads, and a roster per org with several coaches.
- TrainHeroic
- Coach 1:1 or group clients into teams for programme delivery and group communication.
Progress
- Loadout
- Per-exercise twelve-week trend, estimated 1RM, records, volume by muscle and compliance, computed from the structure.
- TrainHeroic
- PRs and progress graphs, with total volume lifted, total reps and hours trained.
Leaderboards
- Loadout
- None, by design: no leaderboards, streaks or badges.
- TrainHeroic
- Global leaderboards comparing an athlete's lifts with similar athletes.
Selling programmes
- Loadout
- A free template store for sharing session and block templates with other coaches. No paid programme sales.
- TrainHeroic
- Sell training programmes through the TrainHeroic Marketplace.
Watches and AI
- Loadout
- Cardio pushed to Garmin and intervals.icu as structured workouts (intervals.icu forwards to Wahoo and Zwift) and scheduled on Apple Watch from the iPhone app. The activity completes the session when it lands. Drafts a whole block from a brief, suggests the next progression per exercise and writes a morning briefing. Nothing is applied or sent without you.
- TrainHeroic
- Not described on TrainHeroic's coach and athlete pages; check with TrainHeroic.
Free plan
- Loadout
- Free for 2 active clients with every feature, no time limit and no card.
- TrainHeroic
- A 14-day free trial, no card. No free plan listed.
Price, as of October 2026
- Loadout
- $49£39 a month including 5 active clients, then $5£4 per extra active client. Annual billing gives 2 months free.

When TrainHeroic is the better fit
- You coach teams where athletes compete on lifts and leaderboards motivate them.
- You sell off-the-shelf programmes to the public and want a marketplace to list them.
- Your work is mostly barbell strength and you want a long-established, strength-only tool.
When Loadout is
- You coach hybrid athletes: lifting and running or rowing in the same week, with the cardio on their watch.
- You want the morning briefing and roster flags to tell you who needs you, rather than reading every log.
- You would rather your athletes were not ranked against each other.

Moving over from TrainHeroic
Loadout is free for 2 active clients with every feature and no time limit, so you can try it on real athletes before you move anyone else. The importer is under Import in the coach dashboard.
- 01Start on the free plan with two athletes and run both tools side by side for a block.
- 02Export your client list from your current app as a CSV. The importer maps columns such as name, email, phone and notes, previews every row and sends the invites only when you confirm.
- 03Export or copy a programme into a CSV with one row per exercise (date or week and day, session name, exercise, prescription). Exercises are matched to the catalogue, anything unmatched is shown for you to fix, and each prescription is parsed into structure.
- 04Athletes who connect intervals.icu, Strava or Garmin can pull in their activity history, a year by default.

Questions.
Is Loadout a good TrainHeroic alternative for strength coaches?
For coaches who write percentage or RPE based programmes and want them read into structure from plain text, with AI drafts and progression suggestions on top, yes. If leaderboards or selling programmes on a marketplace are central to how you coach, TrainHeroic offers those and Loadout does not.
Can Loadout handle teams?
Yes. Apply one session template to many athletes at once, run group and team message threads, and add more coaches to the same org. Each athlete still gets their own log, trend and readiness.
How do I move from TrainHeroic to Loadout?
Export your athlete list as a CSV and import it to send invites, then bring the current block across as a programme CSV with one row per exercise. Every prescription is parsed into sets, reps and load, and unmatched exercises are shown for you to fix before anything is created.
Is Loadout affiliated with TrainHeroic?
No. TrainHeroic is a trademark of its owner. Loadout is independent; this page reflects TrainHeroic's public website as of October 2026.
